Medicine

There are but few cures
to seal the pain
love procures

the seething pain
that drives you insane
no sleep or hunger
nothing but the trigger-happy feeling
of remaining bound by its refrains

they say it can easily kill you
and I say you are but a patient at best
if you were to remain

hoping and knowing
not asking or showing
patterns are nowhere
no maps or guides

bring out the torch, light the candles
oh the mysteries of this love,
they can keep you up
from daybreak to twilight

bound by surprises
hidden like treasured prizes
growing and gnawing
even if from a distance

you cannot fully know its gaze
its shines within your
and can light up your darkest days

a medicine that works
when none other can
love is a potion
that's dwindling even in proportions

try and go through
all the open doors
or look through the underground
all the way up to the core

if love is a pill
then I'm in love with medicine
and the doctor who came
up with this cure

for what love stands for
any lifetime is obscure...

Undefined

Take a pencil
and draw me a line
keep the distance
between us as a scale
and let the paper
capture the distance
the spaces between us...

let the paper not fail
to capture the divide
the meanings you see
and the reasons I hide
the book, full of paper
would run deep
and deeper it will go
bloated with the grey black lines
slowly narrower,
as the paper begins to show

Let not the echo of your breath
be deeply embossed in those lines
don't let the tears fray the mind...
this is death but the journey was life
and while it lasted
the paper was green
our hands together
filling up its seams
but now the white has conquered fear
in our minds, death forever near

GONE

The bed is made on your side
and the curtains are drawn
the oxygen's missing
and death seems nearer than dawn

deaf-tones seeping from bleeding walls
are but echoes of the broken falls
empty vases and charred remains
are remnants of how far this longing's spanned

the dust on the shoes is now rust
the flame is the desires has long turned ash
the rain has long stood guard to my moist eyes
coming down each time to see me
when I feel lonely without your lullaby's

like a traveler you've join back the race
leaving behind an essence of an embrace,
an empty frame and a pair of numb hands
are not half as painful as the never ending nights

rise, like the phoenix and sail in my direction
and teach me the real magic of painting smiles
the necromancy you can accomplish
is dearer to those living out lies

I could write a thousand words today about a hug
sing a million why you should be mine
holding a few pieces of my heart in my hand
I close my eyes to turn back time

if you know how much of yourself you left behind
you'd come back for me, and change my world
one more time the way you had done
the magic in this might
will reunite all that customs had to divide

or call me, a hopeless drifter, in your direction
like a bag of plastic, weightless I've floated for long now
or come and stub out this bag of bones
for one last touch from you death will wait...

Sure

We love from distance
because we're sure,
we love despite resistance
because we couldn't be anything
or anyone anymore
The care is lasting,
our love is a storm
There ain't a nightmare,
we can't take head-on,
we've been reckoned this way...
From the sultry nights
to the dizzying heights
keep me sane from the maddening flight
that is you and I...
We love from our might,
a form or shape peculiar to world's gaze,
smirking at the horizon,
making merry in this haze
You and I have a story to tell,
and we'll tell it right,
swinging back and forth in measured paces,
oblivious to any fright,
we'll get there alright...
What you are to me,
no one will ever know
an infinitesimal energy,
a bundle of hope, a resting place
Oh, death will come to me slow...
all the secrets of this life I now know
Marching fervently in tepid directions,
and reaching out for the impossible life,
spreading thin the sorrows,
wafting out the realities too,
and dreaming till it's daylight
Oh, the nights hang in wait...
curling up in all directions
as you and I are kept at a distance
the wait gets unbearable at times
as reality gets too hard to take
So you see,
I wait for you on the other side,
at the cusp of the circumference
where light illuminates those virgin grounds,
where rasping voices sing solemn blues,
and memories yield more than teardrops...
flying as we go,
right past the rainbows' hues
playing our own tracks,
as life takes cues...

1:30

It was that time of the night,
or perhaps day,
I couldn't speak much,
but I had enough to say

Thoughts in silence,
and emotions in fray
Give or take an aberration,
And two varied fates
would be the face of today

Few will understand
this night of dream,
dream I say
cause it doesn't get whiter in years

from a memory,
growing evenly into fear...

Some steps insipid
printed vastly in time,
and time it was
where the objection lay

Not enough asked,
not well said,
incompletely complete
like this very night,
or the one I sat through reliving it

In hindsight, a linear memory

that borders short of being fond,
yet comes sweeping back in years
the rush my heartbeat gets,
I can but survive...

I have no questions,
no answers nor claims,
only emotions kicking up
that since long I've renamed...

enamored completely
in the sands of time,
my withering projection
and the lust for benign

A static hollow no matter what I do,

a void I can't fill,
and now, neither can you

The spaces broaden
in the space of time
and slowly
even the flashbacks too

I wish there were
fewer names to remember in life,
in time,
when yours' flashes up high
I could look at it with a sigh of relief

And let go the overkill
that drills me to this day,
whatever it was,
was more special than I can say

Cheer up now,
the dawn is breaking fast,
Warm and tender
but emerging at last...

Tell me, oh timekeeper,
who should I bribe to have things my way?

Two weeks notice

A week its been to a new shore
I've left behind now
what I long claimed as
mine to procure, one
that is now mine to retain or abhor

Long it took to sever at last,
the extended stay in the premise
of an unstinting mind,
just not ready to bury the past behind

Just as fear was seeping in,
long did it rust away from my sight
a seething challenge to my might

I could but relish it now,
though it seems already
like a new task

The new voyage has stormy seas,
and the radar is sorting itself in line
to where my dreams
with my will shall align

Progression and motion,
and the entire commotion,
and all of it does sometime get limiting
to the core

Tossing and turning,
and twisting and swerving
inside I'm ambivalent to the core

Not sleeping or working,
a state of inertia,
but not one I've felt before

To the emotional mind,
to all the threads that logic
can't bind, I can't hide
that I'll miss dearly what I leave behind

So I take what I can
and move away before
I doubt my decision,

so long an exile
away from precision

My biggest test was greater than my ask
I longed within and I long without
But I cast myself away from doubts

What else remains for me to say...
What do I retain? What is my to remain?

I sail to another sea,
on another journey, to a new shore
Longing and lusting to be with myself
more than anyone, once more...

So I take few pictures, in silence,
and complete some remaining hymns,
I evade those who I know most
or the fear of change will do me in...

Goodbye, and may joy be with you all
this parting glass, let us not fill with tears
I owe it my heart to you...
I owe it from the start to you...

Dark

Blend me in where there's a heart
I want to feel an emotion,
devoid of the cold,
living in two-fold

Are you proud of this make believe?
Hanging in purpose to be a need...
Flesh on my skin is beginning to wry,
Hold me in till the bleeding is dry

Sink into the silence and you'll hear
the voices that no longer speak
were the ones that brought out tears

Soothing even in the despair of those cries
there was a hope intermittent in those eyes
making me see the truth in all of the lies...
letting me run free without alibis

What do you believe in?
Where do you take flyby's
you can rake in the moolah,
but you can rattle in lullaby's

run now, run to the darker shades
take what you can get,
and we'll make it to our dawn

who can say that's not to belong...

Solitude

In your silence
in your cry
in your patience
in your persona
and in your truth
in your pain
and in your tears
in your laughter
and in your fears
in your thoughts
in your absence
and in your hold
in your no's
and in your woes
in your warmth
and in you wrath
in your haste
and in my snatch
in your afterglow
and that feeling of high and low
in my desires
and in your sanity
in my dreams
and in your realities
in your truth
and my loyalities
in your forthrightness
and in my unending persistence
in your rejection
and in my pestilence
in life's irony
and in your jokes
in my plight
and in your flight
in your strength
and in my might
in your walls
and in my voice
in your resolve
and in my your-choice
in your absoluteness
and my foray
in my complexity
and your sunlight
in my lips
and in your eyes
in my actions
and in your answers
in my nothingness
and in your nobility
in my calm
in your hurt
in your unbelonging
and to my fate
in your denial
and in my running late
in all the fanfare
and your telltale absence
and in being on hold
in your temper
and in my being inane
I find myself feeling to be wanted again...

State of affairs

Seeing the stars
in my sleep
I am flowing through the moonlight
while you keep
my sanity
and
my pain

I shake the myth
and emerge less inane
I fumble through
the lies
and stumble deeper
trying to contain

The urge to spill
whats to be numb
by now
the urge to proclaim
what was to be
somehow

My truth, my life
my dreams
take two
leave no spare

Hold me close
infinity
I'm driving
down your way

Sit and watch me go
silently
and
hold what you can't
let go

Frame my dispositions
with reverence
old friend
while the vision is bleak
and the narratives still seek
the conjecture
is oblivious to a maybe

Mighty might
would you restore
seek serendipity,
serenity's fast melting core

the layers of hope
turn a new shape
Turn the slayer
to cope
Oh! whoever said
we could live on in hope

Slapstick
adaptations
and maneuvers of plight
the keeper
of secret has
rejected the sight
and all those
that turn your thoughts
away

Look at the black
of the night
and
the color you think
your life will portray

perspective shifts
no longer looking for meanings
while the night
rests on its laurels

the difference as you know
will always be there

You've something else to say
and I've nothing else
to hear

inch by inch
and tear by tear
we're losing, we've lost
the meaning
of being near

Fear of not being together
thats
now no longer there

My mortician
I'm no longer bewildered
by fate
I may not be moving
on but
I know I am not furthered by wait . .

Twilight

The light's leaning on the shore
and like your eyes
its grazing through the core

Once again,
the tides are compelled to flow
one more sailor is
losing the meaning of flow

Down by the sea
he searches for a hidden treasure
dancing soulfully
toasting his own displeasure ..

As the moon now
is far ahead
leaving behind
its empty cage

As our lives are now
a few ramblings
invisible beneath
the crumbled, clear page

Sail me through the coast
any cost, I'd get braver
through impenetrable
waters of the misty night

Is my hope running adrift
I can see you walking
down on the
shore

Perhaps my eyes
are still grieving for an encore
and tears diving
into the center
and immersing into the pure
memory

Searching for the lost
pleasure
as your hands go
prepare shadows for the night

Until we are the only dark spaces left behind..
